The Rebel’s Journey has begun its mission to enrich the lives of its readers by revealing to them a single truth: the familiar path upon which most of us walk leads nowhere new. The blog’s author, David, blends wit, popular culture, stark reality, basic psychology, and his own personal experiences to show readers how to change their mindsets, cast off self-doubt, and master their chosen crafts by seeing the world--and their own lives--from a fresh perspective. The path he presents readers with, called the rebel’s journey, is a recasting of the classic hero’s journey for modern living. The parallel, he explains, pits those seeking to break away from the mundane against unknown challenges and risks to discover new rewards and eventually rebirth into a more fulfilled, satisfied self.

“Time is the most valuable element in the universe,” David writes, “the only dimension where we are all equals… but the usage of time is not all equal.” With this at its core, the rebel’s journey asks readers to consider how they want to spend their time versus how they actually spend it, beginning with this question: “What is the purpose of my life?” Through the difficult lessons he learned in his youth, combined with time-tested and proven psychological approaches, David introduces simple yet profound concepts like awareness, mindfulness, the pursuit of creativity, and gratitude, to encourage readers to take risks they’ve been conditioned by society to avoid, in order to find what makes them truly happy. But the journey offers no quick-fixes: “It is a winding road. There will be twists and turns. There will be adrenaline. There will be fear. There will be pain. There will be incomparable challenges. But,” David assures, “it will be the ultimate fulfillment.”
