The company spokesperson, Jana Cobb, said that the company produces only a limited number of the jars with each batch and that they want to offer the jars for the best price possible. She said that by reserving the jars for selling directly they are able to pass along more savings to their dedicated customers, especially for those buyers ordering multiple jars.
