Kathleen Robinson announced that contributions by NANOE Board of Governors made possible today's release of NEW GUIDELINES FOR TOMORROW'S NONPROFIT (SECOND EDITION). Nominations for NANOE's 2018 Board of Governors opened Tuesday. Nominees will be informed via email message.

Professor and Author Kathleen Robinson announced today the release of the newly updated NEW GUIDELINES FOR TOMORROW’S NONPROFIT – SECOND EDITION. During a morning interview she shared, “In late 2016 and early 2017, National Association of Nonprofit Organizations & Executives (NANOE) invited thousands of nonprofit executives to join them as a Governor for the stated purpose of thoughtfully reviewing the first edition of NEW GUIDELINES FOR TOMORROW’S NONPROFIT. NANOE Governors provided detailed feedback on what they thought was important about what was said in each guideline, and what concerned them and why. They shared what ideas were not clear or needed amplification, and identified additional practices needed in each guideline. They also suggested what other guidelines should be added, and the ways in which the guidelines helped promote capacity-building and growth. Hundreds accepted this invitation to be on the Board of Governors. Governors took this job seriously and provided great feedback. As a result, NANOE’s New Guidelines for Tomorrow’s Nonprofit (Second Edition) has emerged in a greatly enhanced and expanded form.”

NANOE is pleased to announce that each of the NEW GUIDELINES debuted in the first edition will eventually be featured in their own stand-alone program guide. To date two new guidelines have been and reviewed and expanded and are now available. They’re titled:

1 – HARNESSING THE POWER OF DIFFERENTIATED RELATIONSHIPS

2 – EVALUATING IMPACT: BEFORE, DURING & AFTER STRATEGIC GROWTH ACTIONS

Other program guides will follow as the input from Governors is dealt with and each guideline is revised.

Social, cultural and environmental issues such as hunger, homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, ethnic and cultural conflict, ethnocentricity, loss of species, rise of oceans, and poverty show little signs of being alleviated or corrected. Global environmental issues are mounting. Cultural and arts opportunities for everyone are on the decline.
