Job One Contracting gets award to clear Page Homes by Trenton Housing Authority

Trenton Housing Authority (THA) contractor Job One Contracting bid on and won a contract to clean up Pages Homes using THA section 3 residents who participated in THA training programs.

Trenton, NJ. Job One Contracting bid on and won a contract with Trenton Housing Authority (THA) to clean up Pages Homes. Page Homes is a vacant low-income housing project owned by THA. Job One Contracting has worked with THA in the past and proven themselves to be one of Trenton area’s most reliable, state certified and go to companies. An important component of the project is Job One Contracting has hired THA section 3 residents/individuals who participated in THA training programs. Having local residents participating in the work on the site of future homes, they may one day live in, was important to both THA and Job One Contracting.

Cleaning up Page Homes has been a priority since it has seen an uptick in violent crime recently. Residents want safe, clean environments which are properly maintained. THA has heard the call and made a quick decision to hire Job One because of the success of working with them in the past, providing quality work at competitive rates and knowing that they could provide the necessary services in an accelerated timeline. This project started on August 6 and is slated to be finished on or before August 16.

Jocelyn Tucker, one of the owners of Job One Contracting says, “Our goal is to collaborate with clients and other contractors, particularly minority and SBE’s to access work and build our own communities, via winning local projects and using local residents to work on those projects, providing job training and jobs. This is a model we have proposed to multiple departments of the city of Trenton, as well as THA over the past several years.”
