The clinic’s newly acquired intraoral scanner aims to provide patients with an easier and more effective way of acquiring dental impressions for use in Invisalign and other dental treatments.

According to industry experts, many technological advancements are being used in the orthodontic industry today. At Dr. Nicole Cuoccio’s practice, they have acquired an iTero intraoral scanner. The innovative scanner is a machine that can take highly accurate digital impressions of the teeth and gums.

The iTero scanner is engineered to take full arch scans in less than a minute by using both optical and laser scanning to achieve the most accurate results. It can capture precise impressions of patients’ teeth and gums without the usual gooey messes, unpleasant tastes, discomfort and difficulty in breathing associated with taking traditional teeth impressions using dental putty.

Specifically designed to provide the best treatment plan and workflow for the Invisalign system, the scanner can illustrate instantly, how teeth may look at the end of the treatment. This gives Dr. Cuoccio and her patients a step-by-step guide to track the treatment plan’s progress.

With the new high-tech intraoral scanner, Dr. Cuoccio and her associates are able to create perfectly fitted Invisalign aligners for every specific case. The Invisalign treatment involves wearing a series of clear aligners that gradually move crooked or crowded teeth in the right place. Unlike traditional braces which are unsightly and cemented onto the teeth, Invisalign aligners are removable and clear.

The clinic has also announced that they are willing to accept patients even outside of the normal clinic hours. This was implemented for their patients’ convenience so they won’t have to take days off work and young patients won’t have to miss out on school.
