Central PA Adoption Agency Hosts Webinar On Domestic Adoption

Adoptions From The Heart, conveniently located in Central PA, is hosting a webinar about domestic adoption on May 1st, 2018 at 7:00 p.m.

When the word adoption is uttered, many Americans immediately envision a family traveling to another country to meet their newest member. While this is one wonderful way to grow a family through adoption, international adoption is not the only option, yet often, prospective parents are under the impression that it is so difficult and expensive to complete a domestic adoption that it’s not even worth trying.

However, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Each year in the United States more than 18,000 infants are domestically adopted, going directly from the hospital into their new home and the majority of families are matched with their child in less than a year. In addition to this, when comparing the costs associated with domestic adoption and international adoption, there is typically almost no difference. Adoptions From The Heart, a non-profit domestic adoption agency that was founded in 1985, has been helping individuals and couples discover domestic adoption and is excited to continue that work.

The agency assists both birth parents and prospective parents throughout their journey. For pregnant women, adoption professionals are happy to explain all options, help find medical insurance for both mother and child, prepare a birth plan, and provide access to a database of profiles of waiting families. For prospective parents, the agency is happy to help with home studies, provide information on financial resources, and helping with finding legal assistance. Support groups are available for all parties involved and lifetime support is given to adoptees.
