August 17, 2019 —

Pawling, New York: TickleMe Plant Company is proud to announce a new holiday celebration that it is promoting called "Take Your TickleMe Plant to School Day." The day will be on September 26th, 2019, which is Johnny Appleseed Day, in honor of the great American lover of Nature. Now you can plant seeds and excite people about nature like Johnny Appleseed.

In honor of Johnny Appleseed's seed planting effort, the first 25 Teachers who send a self-addressed stamped envelope to The TickleMe Plant Company, 60 Hurd's Corner Road, Pawling, N.Y., 12564 will receive a free packet of TickleMe Plant seeds for their classroom.

The TickleMe Plant Company chose to honor Johnny Appleseed, one of the most respected lovers of nature, nurseryman, and conservationists in American history on his birthday, Sept 26. According to Wikipedia, in early 1792 Johnny Appleseed began walking west as did many immigrant settlers. Starting in Massachusetts, Johnny began planting Apple nurseries on unclaimed land. He was known for being very fond of and respectful of plants and animals.

It's a great opportunity for kids and those young at heart to learn about nature and how to grow these amazing plants at home and in their classrooms year round, indoors. Students and Teachers are encouraged to plant their TickleMe Plant Seeds and TickleMe Plant kits NOW so their plants can start growing and they can share them. Another idea is to have TickleMe Plant seeds or a classroom kit ready to plant with the class on September 26th or any other time that is convenient for the teacher.

To purchase your kits NOW, to grow your own TickleMe Plants indoors, year-round, please visit the Amazon Store or put this link https://www.amazon.com/ticklemeplant in your search address bar.

The "Take Your TickleMe Plant to School Day," idea was created to help encourage children and young people to take an interest in nature. We have observed in classrooms and heard from customers, that children who have learned how exciting it is to grow and care for their TickleMe Plants were more likely to enjoy and explore nature and gardening in the future.

To make things easier, TickleMe Plant Company offers more than twenty high-quality TickleMe Plant kits and accessories on their Amazon Store. A variety of products are available including plant seed packets, a greenhouse garden kit with science activity cards, and The TickleMe Plant Book.

Planting the TickleMe Plant will add life to the classroom. They are an interactive and very entertaining classroom plant for all grade levels. Streep, Miranda and Stone are named as Met Gala co-0chairs

Nov 13, 2019

NEW YORK — Next year's Met Gala may be the closest we'll ever come to getting a Miranda Priestly moment at the starry event. Meryl Streep has been named as a co-chair of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. The Oscar-winner played Priestly, a thinly veiled fictional version of Vogue editor Anna Wintour, in the movie "The Devil Wears Prada." Wintour clearly has no hard feelings because she selected Streep as a co-chair along with Lin-Manuel Miranda and fellow Oscar-winner Emma Stone. Designer Nicolas Ghesquiere rounds out the group. The gala's theme is "About Time: Fashion and Duration," which...

Springboks' 1st black captain gets his chance at history

Nov 13, 2019

TOKYO — It was the week after Siya Kolisi's fourth birthday when Nelson Mandela presented Springboks captain Francois Pienaar with the Webb Ellis Cup in a defining moment for rugby, and for South Africa. Kolisi was 16 when the Springboks won their second Rugby World Cup title. There was no television at his home, he recalls, so he had to go to a tavern to watch John Smit lift the trophy after beating England in the 2007 final in Paris. Twelve years on, the first black player appointed as Springboks captain gets a chance to etch his name in history...
